Song Doula
is an intimate journey through several songs that tell the universal story of transformation that was inspired by my own journey with the healing power of music. Several original songs written over the past 15 years unfold in a sequence to present the universal themes and stages that we all experience when we awaken. From the first stage of hearing the inner call to change, to healing the masculine and feminine split, to coming full circle and meeting the Goddess. These Heart Songs tell a story that resonates with every seeker in some way .They are my companions, prayers, and beautiful reminders. With some narration in between, they come together as different steps on a path towards reclaiming wholeness.
Being passionate about self discovery for many years, song writing moved away from being a commercial venture to becoming a tool to explore my personal growth and find ways to evoke healing. Always a joyful and creative experience, I find that I evolve alongside the songs continuously. Each time I sing them they teach me something new with an opportunity to heal another layer and go deeper. The name Song Doula resonates because my experience of songwriting and singing often feels like I’m facilitating my own birthing process, helping me to reclaim my lost and forgotten parts. It gives me much joy to share these songs with other people and hear how they have also inspired, moved and nurtured them on their own journey.
